Compassion in Action:

Advancing Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed Care for Older Adults

Training Workshop and Advocacy Day • Celebrating 10 Years of Impact

Join the Jewish Federations' Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care (Center) as we learn and celebrate a decade of impactful work. This premier training event is the only one in North America dedicated to innovations in aging and person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) services. Participants will connect with a vibrant community of hundreds of professionals, experts, community leaders, academic leaders, and policymakers in the aging space. More information about the event will be posted soon.

Apply today to present a breakout session! Below is information about session information, presenter requirements, and the proposal process.  Proposals must be completed and submitted online before 11:59pm ET, Thursday, December 12, 2024.

Session Information

Breakout sessions will be 75 minutes total, including introductions and question and answer periods. Session content must incorporate the PCTI approach. All sessions must focus on (1) providing PCTI care to Holocaust survivors, older adults with a history of trauma, and/or family caregivers; (2) PCTI training to professional service providers and/or volunteers; or (3) infusing the PCTI approach into an agency. Applicants may submit more than one proposal. Proposals that include presenters from multiple agencies, and/or older adult or family caregiver presenters will be prioritized. For more information about content eligibility, please click here.

Presenter Requirements

Each session can have up to four presenters. If the presentation is approved, all presenters will be required to register for the Compassion in Action: Advancing Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed Care for Older Adults Training Workshop. The Center is not able to pay for presenters’ registration, travel, lodging, or honorariums. Presenters must use their grant, agency, or personal budgets to cover event-related costs.

Proposal Process

Proposals are only accepted through this website. When developing a presentation proposal, applicants will be asked to develop learning objectives. For more information about how to write effective learning objectives, reference Tips for Writing Learning Objectives.

The proposal can be completed in multiple sittings using the ‘Save’ feature. Please note that saving this form will not submit the proposal, as applicants must press ‘Submit.’ After submitting a proposal, applicants will receive an auto-generated confirmation e-mail with a PDF of the completed proposal. All e-mail addresses listed in the proposal will receive notification from the Center informing applicants whether the proposed session was accepted or declined by April 7, 2025. Unaccepted presentations will be considered for future webinar or conference presentations.

We look forward to reading your presentation ideas and learning from you. Good luck!
