Subgrantee Products
Subgrantees of the Center have created many products while implementing their Center grants including person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) trainings, workshop presentations, intake forms, event flyers, and more. These products are freely available to all those in aging services who wish to learn and create programming supporting older adults with a history of trauma and their family caregivers.

PCTI Resiliency Support Group Trainings
DOROT | 2022
This training was developed by DOROT partnered with Dr. Abigail Nathanson, trauma therapist, to create a series of six virtual training courses about utilizing PCTI principles and best practices for facilitation of remote and in person resiliency support groups in support of older adults who have experienced trauma. Each training had a specific topic of focus and tailored handouts.

Resources for Health Care Professionals and Other Caregivers Supporting Holocaust Survivors and Their Family Caregivers
MJHS Foundation | 2022
This online training toolkit consists of a course orientation and three modules that can be taken individually. It aims to sensitize and prepare health care professionals working with Holocaust Survivors and their families, as well as other trauma survivors, to recognize and respond to post-traumatic stress symptoms and deliver PCTI care at the end of life.
Training Audience: Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, social workers, and all other healthcare professionals and non-clinicians working with Holocaust survivors and their families.

This training provides pro bono attorneys with best practices in end-of-life discussions, which encompass completing advance healthcare directives, simple wills, and Powers of Attorney for finance.

Helping Survivors of Trauma
The Blue Card | 2019-2021
This interactive web-based training course was developed by Blue Card in partnership with The Russell Berrie Institute for Simulation Learning (ISL) at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey. This online module with simulated scenarios educates healthcare professionals about the triggers and impact of trauma on Holocaust survivors. Using a PCTI care model, healthcare providers can learn to promote well-being and avoid re-traumatization. While the training focuses on the specific experiences and insights of Holocaust survivors, PCTI care can be used to inform the care of any traumatized person or people group, like refugees and veterans.

Trauma-Informed Care for Holocaust Survivors
Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, Inc. | 2018-2019
This training program by the Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, Inc. was developed to give caregivers of Holocaust survivors an essential understanding of trauma, the unique effects of Holocaust-originated trauma on the aging process, and guidance on identifying triggers to avoid. The aim of this training is to infuse PCTI principles into caregivers’ practices, enhance emotional well-being of survivors, and increase trust between the survivor and caregiver.

Our Voices
Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP | 2018-2019
Our Voices is a six-month technology program developed by OATS that helps Holocaust survivors learn to use the iPad in meaningful ways, including to connect with others. This program includes materials for Holocaust survivors in English and Russian, as well as a toolkit to support agencies delivering the program.
