Training Workshop 2027

Advancing Healthy Aging

April 6-8, 2027 • New York, NY

About the Training Workshop

Our signature in-person training convenes 150 people shaping care for older adults with histories of trauma. We are clinicians, direct service staff, researchers, executive directors, funders, policymakers, caregivers, and representatives of national aging organizations. Two days of plenaries, breakout sessions, and facilitated discussions give attendees time to go deep: to learn emerging trends, showcase standout programming, and form lasting relationships. As the only gathering in North America focused exclusively on person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) care for older adults, Holocaust survivors, and caregivers, the Training Workshop is where innovations scale into shared practice across the field.

The 2027 Training Workshop takes place April 7–8 in New York City, with an optional welcome social on the evening of April 6. See you there!

This Year's Theme: Advancing Healthy Aging

Advancing Healthy Aging means expanding what "healthy" includes. For older adults living with histories of trauma, wellbeing is not simply a clinical matter of managing conditions; it is also a matter of safety, dignity, connection, and control over one's own life. The person-centered, trauma-informed approach is how the field delivers care holistically. This work is urgent now. Trauma is prevalent, care systems are strained, and the workforce is turning over faster than institutional knowledge can be shared. The 2027 Training Workshop convenes the practitioners, researchers, and leaders shaping this work so that person-centered, trauma-informed care becomes universal.
